PERSONALITY QUESTIONS
What skills does your character bring to the situation?
The Iron Bull has a good number of skills that can come in handy. Most notably is that he is a mercenary and will protect the people of the village if he has to. This would not only be related to the actual fighting but things like building defences and using what they got on hand. He is strong and used to hard work and was raised to put the community before his own needs. He isn't a farmer by any means, in fact, he will gladly explain that it isn't what he was made to do. He also likes to explore and hunt and to bring back the spoils for people. He will gladly lead a group into the wilds to explore or try to find a way home or better yet explore the new fauna, who knows maybe they'll find a dragon. He is curious and smart, something that often leads him to take unconventional ways of getting what he wants.
He is a leader even if he leads by example more than anything else. He is also fond of a good story or a party and he has a way of making people feel welcome, before coming to 6I this would often happen in various taverns but he will most likely make use of the inn. He'll also insist on experimenting with brewing his own alcohol. He doesn't judge and he will gladly take in those that don't quite fit in anywhere else, that is how he made his own mercenary band after all.
Why did you choose this specific character for 6I, and how do you picture them fitting into the game?
I chose Bull because I love him. I have played him before and I think he will fit in well in the game given that he is a hard worker but also enjoys being around a wide variety of people. I am planning on having him explore the areas (hunting for dragons) and also work on ways to make living in this new world safer for everyone. And while he has no background in husbandry right now it is something I could really see him enjoy as he learns to do it. Other specific things he'd do would be to start up some sort of weapons training, most likely archery first since it can be used to hunt, but he would want people to be prepared in case of something happening so he'd try to also teach melee fighting. I am excited to play him in a world where he can show of some of the ways he is actually a competent character and I am really hoping to get some 'found family' type cr with him. He does love his friends greatly and it is something I enjoy playing.
How do you imagine your character will survive in 6I, and in what ways will they contribute to the settlement, if any?
I think he'd survive quite nicely, he comes from a preindustrial world. He might not have learned any trade like blacksmithing or farming but he is familiar with fighting and exploring. He is also willing to learn new things and I could see him enjoying a lot of different trades where he gets to use his strength, such as blacksmithing or a lot of farm work. Most importantly he knows how to have a good time and to make people feel like they are part of his found family and that is something I am hoping he will really do here as well, creating more of that found family feeling.
How will your character react to...Being separated, possibly permanently, from loved ones and their previous life, including loss of powers, if applicable?
Bull is used to being away from family, as much ad Qunari have a family. He will miss the chargers greatly, especially his second in command Krem. He will mourn but given that they are mercenaries he will also accept it, as losing someone is a risk in their profession. He will try to create a group like them.
When it comes to the loss of control of his life it is a strange situation for Bull. He was raised in a culture where you didn't have a lot of control or choice. Your purpose in life was decided while you were still a kid and questioning those choices or trying to change them was grounds for death or for having your free will taken away. But having been a spy for so many years and living in a different culture Bull has grown to value his ability to decide his fate a lot more than your average Qunari. He gets to chose which jobs to take, who he works with and where he goes. It has become something quite precious to him and he won't be happy about having that removed. He will try to rebel in small ways, fight whatever rules he can find (unless they risk everyone's safety) and just do things just to prove that he is still in control of himself.
Their environment being manipulated, possibly in strange or extraordinary ways, and possibly in ways which restrain them?
He will want to test those limits and try to push past them. For example, when it comes to the ocean he'd be tempted to try to set sail over it to figure out what, if anything, is on the other side. He most likely will talk about it with others, try to figure out where they have been and if any wants to come with him on these trips. He can also be talked down from them, especially by friends appealing to needing him in the villages. Given that he comes from a world with magical plants and creatures he the flora and fauna of the world might not be that alien to him. Different than what he is used to but not disturbingly so.
Being physically and/or mentally manipulated, such as having hallucinations or suddenly possessing special abilities they did not have before?
He will not like it. Bull is suspicious of magic, having been raised in a culture that considers magic users to be extremely dangerous. He will see being hallucinations or special powers as a sign of that. Depending on how people around him act he might end up acting out, trying to fight it or find a way to break whatever is going on. But on the other hand, if people are treating this as not something to worry about or if his powers seem to be benign he might instead rather enjoy it and want to explore the powers once he figures out that they aren't dangerous. In short his gut reaction will be to dislike these things but how he reacts after that will depend on the people around him.
When it comes to how it affects his mental state it ties into what I've mentioned before about his past and not being in control. Depending on how often the manipulation happens and if it is more of physical or mental manipulation he might end up breaking in a way. Seeing this as something more like Qunari reeducation, intended to break him and bring him back on a tight leash. If he has gotten friends and a group of people he considers his he will fight but if he is more on his own he might just accept it, figuring that the less he fights the sooner it will be over.
POWERS & SPECIAL ABILITIES
None really. He is big and strong and though but not more than someone his size should be

Why did you choose this sample? It is on the 6I TDM so I felt it would be a chance to show a bit of how he'd be in the setting.
