Tommy leaves him to it for now, but he checks in with some people he trusts, asking about how Finn had conducted himself- it all seems trustworthy enough, and so he's happy enough to have him on the next day, and the day after that, and the weeks following. He doesn't get to learn much about who the man is, but there's some- enough that it's alright for Tommy to keep him working for him for now.
And what he does learn is carefully crafted. Finn's from a village not too far from there, that part is true if he goes to ask. He went to work down in London, nobody hear much after that. He was part of some special force during the war, nobody knows much about that either. Then it was back to working factory jobs, hard labor, never complained much. Had his share of fights and scraps as you'd expect but nothing out of the ordinary.
Weeks later Finn comes up to him early in the day, before the place really got going. "Hi boss. I am sure you heard but I had to throw out and ban some guys yesterday. They've caused trouble several times now and I figured it was best if they aren't allowed back in. But it is your call if that ban should stand."
